Danny Lapointe (R3EL | Chapel Hill)
Danny has been in the scene since the late 90's. Growing up in Maine but living and traveling up and down the entire east coast, gathering style and sound from dancing on floors in Atlanta, Charlotte, DC, Denver, New York, Detroit, Miami and even Berlin there is no doubt that he knows what moves the crowd. Setting a solid standard of progressive music in his area. If you can imagine the moment right before sunrise, and mixed the progressive journey of John Digweed fueled by the techy groove of D-Nox plus the experience of sweating on the floors for 11 years, you’ll have an outline to grasp this artist. Involved in projects to merge live musicians and djs together, connecting more fields of music under one beat. Making people dance is a standard, using ideas with live musicians plus the addition of sounds created on the spot, and the technical ability to mix in computers and 3 turntables at once makes it easy to feed off the vibe and give the crowd what they want stamped with his sound. Danny worked heavily with Pepe Nothots as NC Lounge to create an experience that is always evolving and shaping the scene in the area, while trying to bring everyone that shows outstanding talent together. In the past few years Danny has played all over North Carolina and ventured into the DC, Denver and Atlanta areas aswell as having a set aired on XM radio by Deepsky. Printed on the same bills as Donald Glaude, Paul Oakenfold, D-Nox, Planet of the Drums and Carbon Community, being up to par with world class entertainment happens regularly. This has come from holding a monthly residence at 6 venues including Talullas in Chapel Hill called Global House which opened doors into weeklies and heavy involvement with the annual South East Electronic Music Festival known as Signal. Part of the artist group R3EL which is comprised of artist from all the elements, they are focused on teaching each other to bring themselves and the scene to the next level. "to make progress it's good to be progressive" Horace Hess aka Horus (Raleigh) Very few music aficionados embody what it is to be a DJ as well as HiJinx Records & JoekerLand Productions rising star, Horace Hess. Having roots in the back woods and city streets of North Carolina and influences ranging from Joe Satriani to Kraftwerk to Aphex Twin, Horace has acquired the knowledge and skills over the past 5 years that make him a staple in the Triangle music scene. Always playing and pursuing sounds that tend to range from the uplifting to the gritty, dancers at clubs such as Solas, The Big Easy, Rush Lounge and Aries have found themselves enveloped in a myriad of beats, bleeps and tweaks that keep peoples hearts pounding and minds yearning for more. Molding the groovy of house and the energetic of trance, Horace keeps a party vibe captivating and vibrant. His rapidly-gaining popularity has also earned him peak-hour spots at events such as Sacred Seed, Vice Versa, Nocturnal Frequencies, and Trance Paradise. Even so, Horace's biggest contribution to the dance community may be his creation and promotion of the quarterly dance event at Peregrination, held at Volume11 in Raleigh. Don't miss an opportunity to witness this fun-loving techno-ambassador and to nourish your musical soul. > Listen to his latest mix and friend him on Facebook
